OUR TEN MONKEY RULES1. Never restrain a monkey unless you want to get bitten. In the wild, nothing holds onto a monkey unless it's eating it.
2. Never take anything away from a monkey unless you want to get bitten. A monkey's philosophy? "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine." 3. Never touch or reach for a person holding a monkey or somebody will get bitten. (see Rule # 2) 4. Never smile broadly or laugh at a monkey unless you want to get bitten. Showing teeth is a sign of aggression. 5. Never make prolonged eye contact unless you want to get bitten. (And your mother was right...it's rude to stare.) 6. Never underestimate a spider monkey's strength. If you're arm wrestling, you'll lose. 7. Never let your hair down (tie it back or wear a hat). If you're hair wrestling, you'll lose. (see Rule # 6) 8. Never let your guard down. Monkeys are wild animals. 9. Never hold a grudge. A bite is just a bite. 10. Never show fear. If you do, it's game over. (copyright Michele Gawenka) |
